Late last year, Melillo began offering complimentary file system assessments that help Customers learn more about the information that is stored on their storage devices. The assessment highlights valuable information, such as the files that have not been accessed in a specified period of time; just how much information is being accessed frequently; and where that information is stored.  The detailed reports resulting from these assessments have helped Customers ensure that their most important and most accessed information is available on their highest performing and most reliable storage devices. This analysis also shows Customers the opportunity that may exist for archiving some of the older and less-accessed information, thus reducing backup windows and freeing up valuable disk space.  These assessments continue to be offered for free from Melillo Consulting.  Not only are they financially easy on our Customers, but they are also hassle free.  It takes a Melillo storage expert 1-2 days of data collection on-site, and within a few days the reports are ready.  The assessment technology used does not require the installation of agents in your environment.
