In 2006 SQS acquired 100% of the shares of Cresta Group and founded SQS Group Limited which became the largest independent pure play software testing and quality management consultancy in the UK. With offices in London, Woking, Birmingham, Manchester and Belfast SQS employs around 300 staff and adopts proven methods to make a difference to any project offering 'best in class' services. With its enlarged facility in Belfast, SQS is able to meet increased demand for outsourced testing services from a ‘near-shore’ location.
The UK Consultancy Service provides tailor made strategies that include planning, time scale estimates, resource planning, specifications, options for tool implementation and training and staffing requirements. SQS project teams take full responsibility for the implementation and success of testing projects using these planned strategies. An objective and independent viewpoint enables selection of the most effective test processes, tools , technologies and utilities to be deployed.
SQS Group Limited is part of the SQS Group, the world's leading specialist for software quality. The position and expertise of the SQS Group stem from almost 30 years of successful consultancy operation. Over this period of time, the company has also developed extensive specialist knowledge in many vertical markets. Founded in Cologne, Germany, in 1982, SQS has around 2,000 employees across Europe, Asia, North America and Africa. SQS has a strong presence in Germany and the UK and offices in Austria, Egypt, Finland, France, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. Furthermore, SQS has a minor stake in an operation in Portugal and a partnership operation in Spain. In 2010, the group achieved revenues of € 162.9 million. SQS is listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM) and has a second listing on the Open Market on Deutsche Börse, Frankfurt.
