Focus on data protection and security
Contracting authorities and the health sector are both currently facing the challenge of how to keep expenditure as low as possible while developing more efficient processes. SQS uses quality management and software testing to help the authorities and the health sector meet their cost targets and schedules – as well as to minimise project risks.
For example, SQS conducted a requirements validation for the Department of Education Northern Ireland, which has substantially reduced the risk of additional costs from misleading communications.
In this project, our specific services included:
- Using the PractiQ® methodology to stringently review all relevant documents with regard to compliance with the IEEE1998 standard.
- Recording the non-observed guidelines in the test tool
- Creating a report with general observations, including format and style recommendations and individual comments on each defect reported
- Creating a set of improved requirements
The customer now benefits from the following advantages:

- Requirements are now more comprehensive → time saved during communications between the Department of Education and developers
- Texts are clearer → reduced risk of misunderstandings
- Traceability possible throughout the entire project
- Simple assumptions or incomplete descriptions have been found and corrected
A further example of SQS's services in this sector is the test management project at BG Phoenics GmbH: the SQS experts used systematic software testing to guarantee the quality of new applications with more than 2,000 test cases.
Analogously to its work in the public sector, SQS ensures product, usage and process quality for all members of the health sector (the statutory health insurance scheme (GVK) with the compulsory insurance funds, software providers, associations and service providers) as an independent and experienced company.
